How to Prepare for Your Spray Tan

1. Shower and Exfoliate

• Take a shower at least 3 hours before your appointment.

• Shave, wax, and exfoliate your skin at least 24 hours before your session to help your skin absorb the solution evenly.

• Exfoliation is key for an even, longer-lasting tan (up to 10 days).

• Use a quality exfoliant with an exfoliating mitt, focusing on rough areas (feet, elbows, knees, etc.).

2. Avoid Certain Products

• Do not apply any lotion, cream, oil, gel, or makeup before your session.

• Avoid sunscreen, deodorant, and perfume on the day of your appointment.

3. Moisturize

• Moisturize well in the days before your session, but not on the day of your appointment.

4. What to Wear

• The application can be done with or without underwear.

• Wear loose, dark clothing to avoid rubbing and marks after your session.

After Your Spray Tan

1. Avoid Water and Sweating

• Avoid intense exercise and any contact with water during the developing time.

• Wear long clothing if you need to go out in rain or snow.

• Do not apply cream or makeup until after your first rinse.

2. Developing Time and Rinse

• Wait 8 to 12 hours (or as recommended by your esthetician) before your first shower.

• For your first shower, rinse with water only (no soap).

3. Maintain Your Tan

• Moisturize your skin daily with a suitable lotion.

• Avoid products with mineral oils, petroleum, or alcohol, which can make your tan fade faster.

• Avoid waxing on tanned areas to help prevent patchiness.

• Lightly exfoliate when your tan starts to fade for a more even fade-out.
